Whole-Brain "Duyn" Parallel Imaging Array Model NMSC-025A
Nova Medical
Splittable Whole-Brain Array
Features
  • High sensitivity close fitting whole-brain array specially designed for parallel imaging

  • Ultra-low Impedance Nova Medical Preampfliers allow excellent element-element isolation despite the presence of mutual inductive coupling

  • Available as 4,8, or 16 element versions on GE or Siemens MRI Scanners

  • Cortical Sensitivity Improved by up to 600% with 16 element version

Description:
The NMSC-025A Whole-Brain "Duyn" array is based on a unique splittable former which provides close element placement for high peak cortical sensitivity. An optimally gapped array geometry provides low G factors for parallel imaging and ultra-low impedance preampli-fiers provide excellent element-element isolation. Peak cortical sensitivity is improved by up to 600% and central brain sensitivty increased by up to 80% over large single-channel volume coils. The combination of high senstiivty and low G factors allow 2 or 3 fold acceleration rates to be achieved with improved SNR over typical whole-brain single channel coils.

Provided in either 4, 8, or 16 element versions, the NMSC-025 whole brain array maximizes capabilities of 1.5T and 3T MRI scanners for whole-brain functional studies.

Specifications:
Compatibility GE and Siemens 1.5T or 3T Scanners*
Geometry Close-fitting curved splittable former
Coil Type Gapped Parallel Imaging Array
Element number 4, 8, or 16
Detuning Passive + Active PIN diode
Sensitivity Up to 600% increase over birdcage head coil

*Use on 3T systems without a body coil requires use of a volume transmit coil such as the Nova Medical NM-001A Head Transmit Coil Splittable Whole-Brain Array
