Depending upon the receive-coil used, up to 800% increases in local cortical signal to noise ratio can be achieved dramatically improving image quality of high resolution images and the statistics of functional activation studies. One unique feature of the NM-011 is that it allows Nova Medical SENSE optimized arrays to be used on the Siemens Allegra scanner. The combination of the high performance head gradient set and parallel imaging allows significant improvements in acquisition speed and/or resolution of EPI studies for the ultimate in functional imaging performance. Provided as a open, splittable design, the NM-011 is fully compatible with the Siemens Allegra patient table.
