Description:
The detuning circuitry on the NM-011A Head Transmit coil allows the
use of a wide variety of receive-only surface coils and arrays on
the Siemens Allegra 3T MRI scanner. Depending upon the receive-coil
used, up to 800% increases in local cortical signal to noise ratio
can be achieved dramatically improving image quality of high resolution
images and the statistics of functional activation studies. One unique
feature of the NM-011 is that it allows Nova Medical SENSE optimized
arrays to be used on the Siemens Allegra scanner. The combination
of the high performance head gradient set and parallel imaging allows
significant improvements in acquisition speed and/or resolution of
EPI studies for the ultimate in functional imaging performance.
Provided as a open, splittable design, the NM-011 is fully compatible
with the Siemens Allegra patient table. A interior mirror provides
a wide field of view for rear projection viewing and the generous
inside dimensions of the coil provide adequate room for surface coils
and a variety of functional imaging acessories.
